When I first agreed to accept the District Governor role, I was told I would scale new heights in Rotary. I did not realise that meant the Auckland Sky Tower and that I would have to jump off it. I am pleased to report “Mission Accomplished” and I survived so you will have to continue to put up with me for the rest of the Rotary year.

Thanks to all D9910 Rotarians and Clubs who donated to the cause along with my friends and whanau. I exceeded my target of $5,000 ($5,538) and our combined Rotary team reached our $20,000 target.

The Rotary Sky Jump Team Left to Right
David Gock – RC of Mangere,
Robyn Ingram – RC of St Johns,
Peter Martin – RC of Drury,
Ian Kiernan – Governor D9910,
Marcus McKenzie – RC of Waiheke Island,
Gary Langford – Governor D9920

Eva Mitchell – Cure Kids Ambassador

The jump was a bit of fun and excitement (albeit terrifying) for us Rotarians. But reading the stories of the children Cure Kids is trying to assist through medical research is very sobering and puts our fundraising efforts into stark perspective.

Little Eva Mitchell pictured with us has battled from birth – read her story here: https://curekids.org.nz/news/evas-fight-mrsa/

I am proud to have represented D9910 as part of the team raising funds for the Rotary established Cure Kids organisation.
